Creative communication at our annual development day | The Giles Agency

A couple of weeks ago, everyone from The Giles Agency offices headed to Le Meridian hotel in Cyberport to attend our annual development day! We’re huge fans of continuing professional development and ongoing learning, and love bringing our Hong Kong and Singapore staff together to share ideas, brainstorm about the future of our company, and generally inspire and encourage one another to get creative about communication.

  

This year, the overarching theme was just that: communication. Our various team leads — including the English, Chinese, Design, and Account Management teams — took the opportunity to share their thoughts on the past year, and look to what we hope to achieve in the year ahead. Some of the topics covered include an update on TGA as a whole, effective email communication, the importance of keeping your comms short, snappy, and to the point, branding, digital comms, computer skills, and how to communicate to location-specific audiences (such as our client base in Singapore vs. that in Hong Kong — there’s no such thing as one-size-fits-all comms when you operate in multiple regions!).

  

Interspersed amongst these sessions were various relevant activities and games, and — of course — a chance to enjoy a slap-up meal and drink with colleagues at the end of the day.
