The Challenge

Following a successful collaboration in 2023/4, this marked our second year partnering with Dah Sing Bank to design the ESG reports for both Dah Sing Financial Holdings Limited and Dah Sing Banking Group (DSFH and DSBG). The main challenge for the 2024 edition was to handle a report featuring heavier content while maintaining visual clarity and appeal within a limited number of pages.

Our goal was to build on last year’s foundation, delivering a design that aligned with the bank’s branding and ESG messaging, while evolving it to reflect the progress made and increased scope of this year’s edition.

What We Did

• We developed 4 ESG reports and accompanying highlights, comprising English and Traditional Chinese versions for both companies (DSFH and DSBG).
• We carefully balanced the ratio of text to visuals for the increased content volume to ensure a clean, engaging layout within a limited page count.
• We refreshed the cover design to align with Dah Sing’s brand graphics and incorporated photos from their ESG events to showcase real, on-the-ground efforts.
• To enhance readability and visual appeal, we used infographics, quotes, charts, tables and photos throughout the report.
• We also extracted key content from the reports to create versions displaying the ESG Highlights, applying a distinct layout that made the main messages easier to navigate and digest.

The Payoff

We successfully delivered the 4 ESG reports and highlights in both English and Traditional Chinese for both DSFH and DSBG, accommodating the larger content volume through carefully placed visuals and engaging layouts for readers to easily take in. The reports and highlights were uploaded onto Dah Sing Bank’s official website for easy distribution and have been shared with the client’s partners, shareholders, customers, and staff members in recognition of their ESG achievements.
