In 2010, DBS Hong Kong appointed a new CEO charged with bringing fresh eyes to this complex organisation and taking it to new heights. In the decade that followed, the bank underwent a significant journey of transformation, encompassing operations, technology and culture. The team wanted to capture the essence of that journey through a commemorative book.

The Challenge

While DBS worked on the book content, they needed a partner who could bring the story to life in print format. The DBS team wanted to create a book that would look good on a bookshelf or coffee table and invite the reader to pick it up. With a large amount of text to work with, the challenge was to present the copy in an engaging way, drawing the reader in and inviting them to read on.

What we did

We created a bold, eye-catching cover that combined DBS brand colours with creative printing techniques. Then we ensured every page was laid out in a visually-appealing and easy-to-read way, harnessing white space and making use of images, charts, infographics and call-outs to break up text and highlight key points.

The Payoff

The CEO was delighted with the results and after the initial 400 copies had been distributed to great applause, we ran a second print run of 250 copies to be distributed to all senior management and partners at the APAC annual conference.
